Alexandre T. Speaker is a co-founder of Moriah Capital, an based asset-based lender which commenced operations in 2007 and provided direct investments to small-cap companies with capital requirements ranging from $1M to $10M to address a variety of financing needs. Moriah also provided commercial and residential real estate loans to developers, sponsors and operators. The firm worked closely with companies and their management teams to deliver a custom-tailored financing solution that is growth-oriented. Prior to co-founding such asset-based lender, Mr. Speaker was a managing director at Laurus Capital, a multi-billion dollar direct-credit hedge fund. During his three years there, Mr. Speaker was responsible for originating, structuring, negotiating and closing private and public primarily debt transactions. Prior thereto, Mr. Speaker served as a senior attorney with the Secured Debt Group at Bryan Cave, an international law firm based in New York. During his six years with such firm, Mr. Speaker focused his practice in the area of secured loans and private equity transactions and represented a variety of institutional investors and investment banks in connection with structuring and closing asset-based loans with public and private companies. Mr. Speaker also represented many private companies in connection with financings, acquisitions and other corporate matters. Mr. Speaker received his J.D. and B.A. degrees with distinction from Boston University.
Through his family office, Mr. Speaker continues to seek and invest directly and indirectly in various types of global alternative investments, including acquisitions of value-add properties, special situations and direct private loans.
