Amar began his career at mortgage broker Ambassador Finance/AMF London in 2001 and spent the next 11 years with the company, working simultaneously for both the packaging side of the business (AMF) and for the lending arm (Ambassador Finance).
During this time he underwrote more than £100m worth of loans and held a mandate for £500k. Thereafter he joined First 4 Bridging Limited, where he continued his work within the bridging and unsecured personal loans market.
In April 2017, he began working as a Senior Underwriter for Berkeley Asset Finance which provides bespoke asset finance to help people acquire, re-finance or refurbish property. He increased its loan book by £20 million within the first month of joining and held a mandate level of £3m.
In this role he was responsible for full credit analysis and the underwriting of credit applications ranging from companies to high net worth individuals.
He subsequently worked as a Senior Underwriter for Amicus Property Finance, where he managed a large pipeline of circa 50 brokers and around 20-30 deals at any given time, before joining Whitehall Capital.
